SB Tides Coach and Pitching Instructor

Entering his first year as an instructor with the Swanson Baseball program, Alex is a former New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays farmhand. He spent five seasons at the minor league level, reaching Double-A with the Yankees. In 2013, he was selected as a South Atlantic All-Star and in 2014 was selected to play for the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League.

During his five year career, Alex logged 265.2 innings, giving up 86 runs, 83 walks and striking out 236, finishing his career with 2.91 ERA.

Also a former student of SB while playing baseball at Manchester High School and the University of New Haven, Al is the program’s 10th former student to play at the professional level. He’ll join the SB Team program as a coach with our 15u & 16u teams.

Currently, Alex works in the environmental division at TTM Technologies as a Wastewater Operator.
